01How do I search for a stallion on Equun?
Search covers every criterion that matters when choosing a stallion: breed, coat and pattern, height, discipline, parentage (sire and dam), live foal guarantee, breeding method, price, regulatory tracking, location, and more. You can save your searches to find them again easily on each visit.
02How do I list my stallion?
Create your account, add your stallion with photos, pedigree and performance records, then open your breeding periods for the season. Your listing then becomes visible to mare owners, who can contact you directly.
03How does a booking work?
An interested mare owner sends a request from your stallion's profile. You discuss the details with them in the messaging system, then accept or decline the request. Once the booking is confirmed, every step is tracked from your dashboard: breeding, pregnancy check, birth.
04Do you take a commission on breedings?
No. Equun is solely a matching and management platform. Payments related to breedings happen directly between stallion owner and mare owner, off-platform. We take no commission.
05How much does the platform cost?
All core features are accessible for free. The Free plan caps volume (1 active listing, 5 photos per stallion, 3 foals, 2 photos per foal). The Pro plan, at €19 per month or €179 per year, raises the active-listing cap to 3, makes photos and foals unlimited and includes 2 presentation videos per stallion. The Elite plan, at €39 per month or €365 per year, removes the caps on listings, photos, foals and videos.
06What compliance support do you provide?
You keep your breeding booklet online, stallion by stallion and season by season. The platform then pre-fills your documents, ready to check, print and submit yourself: annual booklet, breeding declaration (DPS), birth declaration, zootechnical certificate, and more. These drafting aids cover French requirements (IFCE) and are also compatible with the main foreign studbooks such as KWPN, Hannoveraner, Holsteiner or ANCCE.
07What happens if a mare doesn't conceive?
Re-breeding terms are set by each stallion owner in their own breeding conditions (live foal guarantee, free return, and so on). After a negative pregnancy check, the stallion owner can open a new attempt directly from the record's tracking view: the new breeding and the following checks stay in the same record, with the full history.
08Is my data shared with IFCE or studbooks?
No, never automatically. You generate the regulatory documents yourself (breeding booklet, birth declaration, DPS) from your dashboard, then you choose whether or not to send them to the relevant organism. Equun never shares any data with a third party without action on your part.
09How do I find a stallion to breed my mare?
Use the search to filter stallions at stud by your criteria: breed, discipline, region, stud fee, parentage. Compare detailed profiles (pedigree, performance record, breeding terms), talk with the stallion owner through the messaging system, then send your booking request online. Searching is free and without commitment.
10How much does a stud fee cost?
Each stallion owner sets their own fees, displayed on the stallion's page for every breeding method (natural cover, insemination with fresh transported or frozen semen). Prices usually vary with the stallion's bloodlines, performance record, and reputation. Payment happens directly between you and the owner, with no commission taken by Equun.
